Monitoring the Effectiveness II: Stakeholder Barriers and Motivation

This group supervision session will explore using the Performance Diagnostic Checklist – Human Services (PDC-HS) to assess and understand implementors’ behaviours. The process is similar to conducting a Functional Behaviour Assessment (FBA) for clients: just as an FBA identifies the underlying reasons for a client’s behaviours to inform effective Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) strategies, the PDC-HS allows us to analyse factors affecting implementors’ adherence to support plans. By understanding the “why” behind implementors’ actions, we can create targeted, relevant strategies that address barriers, improve plan implementation, and ultimately improve outcomes for clients. This approach emphasizes that understanding the context of both clients’ and implementors’ behaviours is critical to effective, person-centered support.
