Launch Supervision
for Behaviour Support Practitioners
Behaviour support practitioners play an important role in improving the quality of life of people with disability by understanding behaviour, developing behaviour support plans, and guiding teams to implement them effectively.
Whether you are new to behaviour support or an experienced practitioner, regular supervision provides an opportunity to strengthen your clinical skills, reflect on complex cases, and ensure your practice aligns with the Positive Behaviour Support Capability Framework.
Why is PBS supervision so important?
Having regular supervision with an experienced behaviour support practitioner is a requirement under the NDIS Positive Behaviour Support Capability Framework. However, supervision is more than a compliance requirement. Behaviour support practitioners are responsible for conducting assessments, developing behaviour support plans, and guiding teams to reduce behaviours of harm while protecting the rights and dignity of the people they support.
Regular supervision provides a structured space to discuss complex cases, refine clinical reasoning, and ensure behaviour support strategies remain ethical, evidence-based, and practical.
Who is behaviour support supervision for?
Our supervision is designed for practitioners who:
- are beginning their career in behaviour support and require structured guidance via our Alternative Pathway Program
- are progressing through the PBS Capability Framework levels
- are developing behaviour support plans that include complex cases
- want to deepen their understanding of applied behaviour analysis within PBS practice
- are interested in expanding their scope of practice and would benefit from specialised supervision and professional guidance
How does supervision work at Launch?
Practitioners can access supervision in a number of ways depending on their needs.
Most practitioners participate through one of our structured supervision programs, which combine individual supervision, group discussion, learning resources, and professional development opportunities.
We also offer flexible 1:1 supervision for practitioners who prefer a more tailored approach focused on individual cases and professional development goals.
Are you a positive behaviour support practitioner looking for:
- Behaviour support practitioner supervision that brings a sense of community and connection?
- Experienced PBS supervisors who are nurturing and a good fit with your values?
- A systematic, yet flexible approach to your PBS supervision?
- Support and clarity as you navigate the NDIS Behaviour Support rules and legislation?
- Confidence when working with people with complex behaviour presentations?
If you answered "Yes" to any of these questions, Launch supervision might be the right fit for you.
